InfluentLIVE Season 2, Episode 4, Continuing the RETHINK series
This powerful series is unpacking the scripture to challenge our perspective about God’s Kingdom as it pertains to where the earth is headed and our role in it. In the first episode of this series, we looked at what the Bible said about the Kingdom of God and how it is continually expanding. As we walk in His ways with His Spirit inside us, we ought to be expecting for His ways to be growing and taking over the earth. His ways coming to earth can look like more justice and righteousness, for mercy and love to be extended, for increased freedoms and rights for the oppressed.
This episode goes further, delving into ruling and reigning in the Kingdom of God. Jesus is, right now, the ruler over the kings of the earth. After the cross and resurrection, we have an open door out of the domain of darkness. And even further, we can pillage the kingdom of darkness.
God says He’s given us everything we need for life and godliness. He’s armed us with the tools to walk out this victory. In Jesus, the church corporately has authority over the darkness. We are the light of the world–where we show up and the Kingdom is planted and persists through our individual lives, darkness is pushed back. We see this with salvations, yes, but also when better school or government systems are developed, when mercy and justice begin to happen, among other things.
This has already been happening. The world we live in is vastly different than the world Jesus lived in, and vastly better in almost every measurable way. Bob outlines these advancements in great detail in his book, Kingdom Horizon.
We are the ecclesia who are called out to rule, who the gates of hell will not prevail against. We have made the gospel a personal gospel, lacking vision to transform our cities, but God commands us to let our light shine before men that they would see our good works.
But in order to reign, we have to have a domain. So what is your domain? Where is your sphere of influence where you can bring in the ways of God?
This hopeful message will stir your heart and exhort your spirit—you don’t want to miss it!
